Embracing True Freedom
Brothers in Christ, you are free. You are free from the bondage of this world, free from the chains of alcohol, sex, materialism, and money. You don’t have to be a slave to these worldly enticements anymore. With Jesus’ immense sacrifice, all these chains have been shattered. However, realizing and taking solace in this freedom requires a conscious choice.
Addressing the Big Question: Why Does Evil Exist?
A question that often echoes in many hearts is, “If God is all good, why is there evil in the world?” As Christians, our answers stem from our foundational beliefs:
- God is timeless. He exists beyond our comprehension of time, having no beginning or end.
- God intended the universe and humanity to resonate in flawless harmony with Him. This concept is essential when discussing free will.
- In his actions, man chose to sin, breaking the perfect harmony with God.
- The original sin of man is the root of evil in the world.
- Evil has persisted throughout history as humanity continues to distance itself from God.
- God’s boundless love for us prompted Him to enter our world as Jesus. Despite living a humble life, He spoke the Truth, underwent immense torture, and was crucified to cleanse us of our sins.
- Jesus did not just pass away; He died. A complete and total death.
- But death could not bind Him. Three days later, He rose, both in body and spirit, preached for 40 days, and was then elevated to Heaven.
Understanding Free Will
We face another query: “Why didn’t God simply program man to avoid sin?” If God had imposed such a restriction, we would be nothing more than His slaves. True love is a choice, a decision made freely. Without the freedom to choose love, can one genuinely love?
God embodies love — Agape love. This selfless, charitable, and graceful love is His gift to us, even though, undoubtedly, we are undeserving.
The Two Paths Before You
The world offers an alluring and comforting path, yet it’s toxic and damning. On the other hand, the path of Christ, while challenging and narrow, leads to redemption and eternal life.
So, the decision is yours. Will the transient allure of worldly pleasures sway you, or will you rise and choose God?
